With just a simple confirmation right on the vehicle’s infotainment screen IVP allows drivers to securely pay for fuel, parking, EV Chargers, and other services. IVP also lays the foundation for additional use-cases and advertising. This end-to-end solution provides the technical and business processes to securely and profitably deploy payment services into a vehicle and/or companion app.
Location-Based Authentication
Aisin’s In-Vehicle Payments solution leverages the Aisin Location Based Service(LBS) platform’s high accuracy location data and a database of geofences surrounding enabled merchants to turn your vehicle into an intelligent digital wallet. Transactions are then authenticated by combining user confirmation through a vehicle’s infotainment as well as the match between current location and geofence to ensure you are paying for the correct service.
Market Place vs Contextual
Previous commerce solutions, dubbed marketplace, required drivers to signup with individual providers like Shell, Dominos, etc. Aisin’s in-vehicle payment solution removes that requirement. other than a tap to confirm a payment our solution requires no action from the driver – no searching through the Infotainment and no service provider setup. Use the payment method already registered on file with the OEM, or enter payment info once. Drive up, and the payment application automatically triggers. The payment service appears when the driver needs it and disappears when the driver no longer needs it.
Merchant Coverage
Without wide acceptance at many different types of merchants and brands a digital wallet begins to lose its original value proposition. Through Aisin’s in-vehicle payments solution users have access to gas stations, EV chargers, parking lots, tollways across the United States. For example, with our current coverage for gas stations 51% of all Americans live within 5-mile radius of an enabled gas station. This number is only increasing as we continue to integrate with more brands. In terms of other use cases, our users have access to 77% of all public chargers, 42,000+ parking spots in all 50 states, and approximately 95% of tollways.
